The Role

As a Director of Operations you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our day-to-day business operations activities. Your responsibilities will be comprehensive, spanning across supply chain management, logistics, manufacturing, and quality control. 

Reporting to the Chief Business Officer and working closely with other department heads, you will ensure that operational processes are not only effective and efficient but also aligned with our mission to lead the field in health and longevity. Your expertise will be key in managing our diverse business units, improving operational procedures, managing supply chain partnerships, and maintaining rigorous quality assurance standards. This role will put you in the driver's seat of our operational strategy, placing you at the heart of our mission to revolutionize the health tech industry.

Responsibilities

  • Process Management & Improvement: Oversee the manufacturing and logistics processes to ensure timely production and distribution. Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Collaborate with the Executive team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel to achieve greatest scalability and rapid growth

  • Supply Chain Management: Manage the procurement of raw materials, packaging, and test kits. Maintain strong relationships with partners and suppliers to ensure a smooth supply chain operation. 

  • Quality Control: Establish and uphold quality control standards to ensure that all our products, including supplements and test kits, meet the company's stringent health and safety standards and are compliant with industry regulations. 

  • Production Planning: Work with the sales, marketing, and finance departments to forecast demand and plan production schedules effectively. 

  • Performance Metrics: Implement and track KPIs for performance and growth in operational areas. Use these metrics to identify areas of improvement and implement changes as necessary. 

  • Team Management & Leadership: Lead and manage the operations team across multiple locations and functions, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. 

  • Financial Management: Collaborate with the finance team to set budgets and manage costs within the operations department. Regularly track performance and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting. 

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure operations are compliant with industry regulations and standards, including those pertaining to manufacturing, health and safety, and environmental impact.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in executive leadership positions in an operations management role (Operations Director, Operations Manager or similar), preferably within the supplement, health product manufacturing or digital health industry. 

  • Strong understanding of operational processes, manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and quality control. 

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams. 

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 

  • Sound understanding of industry-specific regulations and standards. 

  • Good strategic thinking, risk management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. 

  • Good understanding of indstry relevant business software, e.g. various ERP tools. 

  • Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field. 

  • Experience at a fast-paced startup, digital health or D2C supplements e-commerce ventures a plus.
